Kareem Campbell

Kareem Campbell, born 11/14/1973, got his fame in the 90’s and founded the brands:

  • Menace Skateboards
  • All City Skateboards
  • City Stars Skateboards
  • Axion Footwear

I personally loved his casual swag, even if he was not the cleanest of the skaters of his era.

I was a huge fan of his skateboards and Shoes. I would love to get an Axion Kareem Campbell pro model again if there was a re-edition! I guess it only works with Jordan’s… 😦

I never had a pair but some of my friends were crazy of his pro-model shoes when he was sponsored by Duffs Footwear.

Kareem used to be sponsored by World Industries before founding his first skateboard brand Menace Skateboards.

Here’s his part in the legendary World Industries/Blind/101 “Trilogy” video from 1996:

Kareem was known for his Hard Flips, nollie, switch & fakie Hard Flips and he also “invented” the Ghetto Bird flip that is a BS Nollie Hard Flip. (He was doing the BS 180 in a late motion)

Kareem was featured in the Video Games Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1, 2, 3, 4 & Underground.

Kareem Campbell was also well versed into Rap Music and even recorded and published a song called “Time for some Axion” with the spelling of his Footwear Brand. Some people incorrectly think the name of the song is “City Stars”  because it’s the chorus of the track. City Stars was the last Skateboard brand that Kareem Campbell founded btw.
